CT Scan

The CT Scan suite of Coney Island Hospital offers the latest in patient care and diagnostic technology. For example, our new 64 Slice CT Scanner provides instantaneous review and analysis of a patient’s cardiac anatomy. One of the best tools for studying the inside of the body, the scanner enables us to create very detailed pictures of the heart, something difficult to do in the past because the heart constantly changes in shape and size.

This scanner represents a breakthrough in imaging technology that may detect early heart disease and prevent a heart attack. With it, we perform a wide range of procedures including but not limited to:

• CT Angiograms, images of the arteries and veins
• Cardiac Imaging
• CT Urography, images of the urinary system
• Body and Muscular Skeletal procedures

In addition, we operate a similar unit in the Emergency Department, which functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We require referrals for CT scans for private outpatients. You can bring the referrals to the CT unit with your insurance card (if applicable). Upon receipt of approval from your insurance carrier, you can make an appointment for a CT scan. We will make provisions to accommodate uninsured patients.
