This diagnostic medical procedure offers a highly accurate way to check the chambers of the heart and to measure blood flow in the coronary arteries.

Coney Island Hospital cardiologists have the latest and most advanced equipment available to help them detect early heart disease and prevent future heart attacks.

For example, our new 64 Slice CT Scanner provides instantaneous review and analysis of a patient’s cardiac anatomy. One of the best tools for studying the inside of the body, the scanner enables us to create very detailed pictures of the heart, something difficult to do in the past because the heart constantly changes in shape and size.

In addition, we have recently installed a new state-of-the-art Philips Allura C digital X-ray imaging system. For our specialists, that means enhanced imaging quality. For our patients, it means up to a 30 to 50 percent reduction in radiation levels, earlier diagnosis, which leads to speedier treatment and, of course, more rapid discharge.

Cardiac Stress Testing
Our board-certified cardiologists perform these tests under strict guidelines and according to the clinical protocols. We provide patients who cannot walk on a treadmill with an alternative stress test which they can take lying down.
